Our mission is to care for our patients as we would wish to be cared for ourselves.

Our family of physicians and staff have been providing quality healthcare to the Dubai community since 1976. Over the years we have grown into a group of 5 clinics and a laboratory with a team of multi-cultural, highly qualified medical professionals with extensive international experience. We are very proud to announce that our laboratory has been awarded the Gold Seal of Approval by the Joint Commission International (JCI). Having our own laboratory helps us control and deliver the highest quality in the shortest time possible.

Our comfortable and modern clinics, with their family-oriented atmosphere, which are situated in every major neighbourhood in Dubai, perform a vital role in caring for the community, supporting individuals, families, local corporations and multinationals in their healthcare needs.

We look forward to welcoming you to our clinics.

Diabetic Retinopathy

Do you have Diabetes? Make sure you are checked for: Diabetic Retinopathy

Dec 10 2014 By Dr. Wafaa - Specialist Ophthalmologist

Diabetic retinopathy is a common complication of diabetes. It occurs when high blood sugar levels damage the cells at the back of the eye, known as the retina

Good control of blood sugar (glucose) and blood pressure slows down the progression of retinopathy.

Facts of Diabetic Retinopathy:

  • If left untreated diabetic retinopathy can lead to visual loss or even blindness
  • People with diabetes can also develop other eye diseases like cataracts and glaucoma
  • Everyone with diabetes over the age of 12 should have their eyes checked at least once a year by a Specialist Ophthalmologist

Symptoms of diabetic retinopathy:

Most people with retinopathy (during initial stages) do not have any symptoms. You may not
realise that your retina is damaged until the later stages, when your vision becomes affected.

Possible symptoms of late-stage retinopathy include:

  • shapes floating in your field of vision (floaters)
  • blurred vision
  • reduced night vision
  • sudden blindness
