When teeth are crooked and crowded, keeping them clean becomes very difficult. If brushing and flossing cannot be completed properly, tooth decay, gum disease and possible tooth loss can occur.
An improper bite can also interfere with your ability to chew and speak properly, as well as cause abnormal wear to the enamel of your teeth. If your teeth are protruding and/or your upper and lower teeth don’t come together comfortably (called malocclusion, or a bad bite), jaw problems also may arise.
Today’s variety of braces makes sure that the treatments offered by our Orthodontists, are customized to our patient’s needs.
The different braces options available are:
- Traditional Metallic, Clear and Ceramic Braces
- Damon System: Damon braces are designed to be discreet, comfortable and easy to keep clean. Damon Braces combine self-ligating brackets and high tech arch wires to reduce friction between the bracket and the wire. The Damon System offers a unique mechanical system – a passive conduit – that permits low forces to work in conjunction with the muscles of the face, tongue, bone and tissue. Low forces minimize discomfort and greatly increase the types of cases that can be treated to a symmetrical facial result without high-force expansion or extractions. Plus the Damon System is available in clear brackets for those image conscious patients.
- Lingual braces (3M Incognito): Incognito™ Hidden Braces are completely invisible so you can confidently smile through every event that life has to offer. Incognito™ Hidden Braces are a unique orthodontic treatment option featuring customized braces placed on the back side of the teeth where they are completely hidden from view. Since they are completely customized for you, Incognito Hidden Braces offer many treatment options. No one will know you’re wearing braces – unless you tell them!

Here we have a patient that is unsatisfied with her smile. Although she is in her fifties and isn’t suffering from any pain but she wants to achieve a more youthful smile. She has a gummy smile that means she showed the gums while smiling hence the asymmetry on gum line is visible. In order to achieve aesthetically acceptable smile the right and left side of gums and teeth must be at the same level , also we are able to correct the cross bite on the left side with the help of ceramic crowns . The correct bite is when the upper teeth come over the lower teeth And not the other way around as is in this case on the left side. We also choose a whiter color for a more natural look.
In this case we replaced the old crowns and bridges and added posterior crowns. Patient is very happy with her new smile.
